4NK9 Academy 

Handler & Trainer Development Programs

 

At 4NK9 Academy, we prepare both law enforcement and civilian handlers for real-world readiness. Each program is designed to build operational capability while meeting certification standards.

8- Week Course: Open to all skill levels - No experience necessary - K9 Included

​

Green-to-Operational Program — $15,000 (single) $18,500 (dual)

 

Our most comprehensive program — from dog selection to deployment. We procure a green dog, imprint on target odors, and deliver a fully trained handler/K9 team ready for immediate certification and fieldwork.

 

Training Includes:

 

  • Procurement of a green dog (tested for temperament & working ability)

  • Odor imprinting (Explosives/Narcotics/etc.)

  • Obedience & behavior development

  • Full handler’s course (deployment, care, and operational TTPs)

  • Certification preparation (single-purpose, dual-purpose, or as required)

  • Graduate as a certified, operational K9 team

 

Custom pricing available for agencies, multiple students, or tailored certification requirements.


After the 8 Week course, you will leave as a nationally recognized certified K9 team ready to work. 

 

 

 

 

6- Week Course:

​

Dual-Purpose Operator Program — $9,500 (K9 NOT included)

 

A full-scope program for patrol/detection teams. Prepares K9 handlers for the demands of real-world operations by combining detection skills with patrol and deployment tactics.

 

Training Includes:

  • All Foundations Program topics

  • All Detection topics

  • Case Law

  • Canine Care

  • Canine Deployments

  • Tracking

  • Evidence Recovery

  • Patrol scenario-based training

  • Advanced trainer decoy work

 

4- Week Course:

​

Single-Purpose Detection Program — $6,500 (K9 NOT included)

 

A focused program that develops a reliable single-purpose detection team in either explosives or narcotics. Prepares the handler and K9 for certification and operational deployment.

 

Training Includes:

 

  • All Foundations Program topics

  • Advanced odor detection (Explosives or Narcotics)

  • Search patterns & deployment strategies

  • Detection problem-solving & troubleshooting

  • K9 selection & testing fundamentals

  • Decoy exposure for environmental confidence

 

2- Week Course:

​

Foundations Program — $3,500 (K9 NOT included)

 

An entry-level program covering the fundamentals of obedience, behavior, and introductory detection skills. Perfect for new handlers or those seeking a strong foundation before advanced training.

 

Training Includes:

 

  • Basic Obedience

  • Behavior shaping

  • Understanding Olfactory 

  • Introduction to odor detection
